 for the finish of the\nIditarod Trail Sled Dog Race Ceremonial Start on Sa
 turday\, March 7 at\nthe BLM’s Campbell Tract Special Recreation Managem
 ent Area. This\nyear’s event will be a special celebration of America’
 s 250th\nbirthday and Freedom 250\, highlighting Alaska’s mushing herita
 ge\,\nthe power of public lands\, and the Iditarod National Historic Trail
 .\n\nThe 730-acre Campbell Tract is a great location to view the Iditarod\
 nmushers and their dog teams as they emerge from the woods and trot\ndown 
 the Campbell Airstrip to finish their 11-mile run from\ndowntown.   \n\n
 This year’s event on Campbell Tract will feature activities for the\nwho
 le family and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The ceremonial start\nbegins
  at 10 a.m. downtown\, and it takes teams about 45 minutes to\nmake the ru
 n from downtown to the Campbell Tract.\n\nThe BLM serves as federal admini
 strator for the Iditarod National\nHistoric Trail. \n
