The Department of the Interior joins the nation in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Jan. 19, 2015 – National Day of Service. On Jan. 14, the BLM is sponsoring an MLK Observance in Washington, D.C., which DOI will be livestreaming.

Nov. 15, 2014, marked the second phase of open enrollment for health insurance plans since the Affordable Care Act became law. Although enrollment runs through Feb. 15, 2015, plans must be purchased by Dec. 15, 2014, for coverage to start Jan. 1, 2015.

Federal Benefits Open Season runs from Nov. 10 - Dec. 8, 2014. This year BSEE and other DOI bureaus are sponsoring two health fairs for DOI D.C. metro area employees: one on Nov. 18 in Herndon, Va., and one on Nov. 20 in Washington, D.C.
