DOINews: New Research Analysis Examines Future Effects of Climate Change on a Daily Basis

A new study by researchers from the USGS and Scripps Institution of Oceanography finds that the Mediterranean Sea region, parts of Central and South America, and western Indonesia could experience up to 30 more dry days per year in the future. Lead author, Suraj Polade said of the analysis, "Looking at changes in the number of dry days per year is a new way of understanding how climate change will affect us that goes beyond just annual or seasonal mean precipitation changes, and allows us to better adapt to and mitigate the impacts of local hydrological changes.”
