A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
DOINews: SC CSC Conducts Educational Outreach at Shawnee Trail Days Festival
Mike Langston, SC CSC Assistant Director, and April Taylor, SC CSC Sustainability Scientist, will attend the Shawnee Trail Days Festival this month to participate in environmental, educational outreach activities. This festival, to be held on June 20-22, 2014, celebrates the local history and culture of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
