A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
DOINews: American Indian/Alaska Native Climate Change Working Group Meeting
The American Indian Alaska Native Climate Change Working Group meeting will be hosted by the University of Oklahoma and the South Central Climate Science Center. The meeting will be held March 28th and 29th in Norman, OK at the National Weather Service building on the Research Campus of OU. Dr. Kim Winton, Director of the South Central Climate Science Center will be a featured speaker. It is anticipated that approximately 100 participants from across the country may attend this event.
