A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
DOINews: PI CSC Data Steward Participates in Hawai'i Data Expo
The Pacific Islands Climate Science Center's data steward, Patrick Grady, recently attended a data expo on the island of Hawai'i. Hosted by the Hawai'i Geographic Information Coordinating Council (HIGICC), the day-long event took place at the University of Hawai'i Hilo (a PI CSC consortium member) campus. The expo included data discovery and geospatial presentations by local agencies and organizations. Patrick gave a presentation titled "Conservation and Climate Change", which highlighted two separate projects involving USGS scientists and funding.
