A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.

On May 23rd Phil Mote, co-leader of the Northwest Climate Science Center, will present information about how the recently released National Climate Assessment is used for local decision making.
This presentation is part of a Union of Concerned Scientists webinar series on the recently released National Climate Assessment (NCA). Produced regularly by the U.S. Global Change Research Program, the NCA provides a synthesis of the current understanding of climate science, including overviews of projected climate impacts by region and sector. Dr. Mote and colleagues will present the Northwest's regional summary on May 23, 2014 at 3:00-4:15 p.m. ET/ 12:00-1:15 p.m. PT.
