A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
Brittany received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies with a minor in Biology from Gettysburg College. Her areas of concentration included marine ecology and Earth system science. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in the School of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences at the University of Washington. Brittany's research will focus on a spatially-explicit assessment of natural adaptation and restoration of tidal wetlands under the influence of future climate change throughout Puget Sound.
