A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
DOINews: AK CSC Co-hosts Workshop on Glacier Change
A recent workshop, "Assessing the Impacts of Glacier Change in the Coastal Temperate Rainforest", was held in Juneau, Alaska on March 5-6. The workshop was convened by the Alaska Climate Science Center, the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center, University of Alaska Southeast and The North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative. The workshop brought together researchers from a broad variety of disciplines to explore novel approaches for studying the regional impacts of glacier change.
