EMPLOYEES - CHECKING THAT YOU ARE IN CORRECT RETIREMENT CODE

Employees should check Block 30 - Retirement Plan on their first SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action, upon entering a position to assure you are placed in the correct retirement code for your position coverage and retirement plan. The codes below are for covered positions. If you are not in the correct retirement code the ½% special retirement deduction may not be withheld resulting in underpayment of retirement deposits. If you feel you are not in the correct retirement code for your position, contact your Human Resources Office.

6 = CSRS-Spec

E = FICA & CSRS-Spec (Offset)

M = FERS & FICA-Spec
