Tourists

The U.S. Department of the Interior manages one-fifth of the land of the United States and offers unparalleled recreational opportunities throughout the nation. Annually, more than 500 million people visit the national parks and monuments, wildlife refuges, and recreational sites we manage. Our National Park System accommodates approximately 271 million visitors. Another 72 million people visit our National Wildlife Refuge System. An additional 56 million people visit the public lands our Bureau of Land Management supervises, and some 90 million visitors enjoy our Bureau of Reclamation sites.
