Before you can begin to telework, and before you sign a telework agreement, both the employee and supervisor are required by law to complete telework-specific training. This training is free and takes about 30 minutes. In addition, DOI policy requires that you complete the annual Federal Information Systems Security Awareness (FISSA) training prior to signing an agreement. Once you complete the telework-specific training, you do not have to repeat the training again. You must complete FISSA training annually.
All the necessary training classes are available through DOI Learn. Once you log into DOI Learn, search the catalog for “telework”. The mandatory courses are titled “Telework 101 for Employee” and “Telework 101 for Supervisors.” Please take the appropriate course. Other courses on telework are available on DOI Learn and you may wish to take these elective courses, but you are not required to do so.
