Seward Peninsula Subsistence Regional Advisory Council to Meet in Nome
The Seward Peninsula Subsistence Regional Advisory Council will hold a meeting from October 8-9, 2013 in Nome at the Aurora Inn. During this meeting, the Council will:
- Review and develop recommendations on proposed changes to Federal subsistence hunting and trapping regulations for 2014–2016.
- Hear a detailed briefing on the use of customary and traditional use determinations in the Federal Subsistence Management Program. The Councils may develop recommendations to the Federal Subsistence Board regarding customary and tradition use determinations.
- Review the rural determination process and develop recommendations to the Board on possible changes to improve the process.
Other issues regarding subsistence will also be discussed at these meeting.
