Proposed Framework and Perfomance Measures for the Department of the Interior's Strategic Plan 2010-2015 The U.S. Department of the Interior Seeks Your Comments on the Proposed Framework and Performance Measures for its Strategic Plan, developed under provisions of the Government Performance and Results Act, by November 10, 2009.
Help Us Set the Course for Interior for the Next Five Years Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar is asking for your help to improve the Interior Department’s strategic plan, the plan we use to deliver results to you, the American people. The Government Performance and Results Act requires that Interior and other federal agencies update their strategic plans every three years. We are asking for your comments on a framework and set of performance measures that outline changes we have proposed to update our plan from 2006. To involve you in this important process, we have published a Federal Register notice formally requesting your comments by November 10, 2009. Interior’s broad-ranging missions affects nearly all 50 states. Chances are the way we carry out this mission affects you, the company for which you work or the environment in which you live and vacation. The framework we are asking you to review proposes changes that reflect the new direction Secretary Salazar has set for Interior, as well as recommendations from our bureaus and offices. Secretary Salazar will use this framework to revise Interior’s plan, forging stronger connections between the new departmental goals he has set and the type of work Interior must do to achieve results. By commenting on this framework, you will influence the goals upon which we will focus from fiscal year 2010 to fiscal year 2015.
