SED is part of the Office of the Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer charged with finding new training methods and learning tools to develops and improve DOI employees’ skills and knowledge.

We have four main objectives:

  • Build learning capacity through individual, organizational tools
  • Integrate learning activities across the Department
  • Review competency gaps and ensuring vehicles are in place to address gaps
  • Collaborate with other federal learning officers to integrate new technologies,   learning approaches and best practices
