IRWIN Goals and Objectives

IRWIN will support wildland fire event/incident information collection, management, sharing, analysis, and reporting. The goals for IRWIN are to:

  • Minimize redundant entry of fire incident/event data
  • Improve the consistency of data for reporting by multiple agencies, and
  • Provide a single point of access to timely, quality data.

To meet these goals, IRWIN will provide a common capability across all participating functional areas for capturing, reporting, and sharing event/incident information. The IRWIN dashboard will allow wildland fire personnel to create reports in various formats, and query multiple systems from a single location.  It is an objective for IRWIN to facilitate interconnection services among systems to support near-time availability of new and updated information to the relevant interagency systems.
