The Bureau of Reclamation Joins the FBMS Family

For 111 years, the Bureau of Reclamation has been known for the dams, power plants, and canals it constructed in the 17 Western States.  These water projects have helped shape our country’s history, leading to homesteading and promoting the economic development of the West.

On November 7, 2013, Reclamation made history again, becoming the final bureau of the Department of the Interior to deploy FBMS.  FBMS is the administrative backbone for mission support at the Department.  With the November launch, FBMS is fully deployed across the Department, supporting 1,660 Reclamation users and more than 15,000 Department users in a single system.  Full deployment marks a significant achievement in the Federal government; no other cabinet level agency has conceived, created, and successfully deployed a software solution on the scale and scope of FBMS.  FBMS modernizes our financial, acquisition, property management, permanent change of station, and financial assistance business management processes, and will enable us to increase efficiencies and lower our operational costs.  FBMS brings a higher level of process rigor, discipline, cross-functional integration, and transparency of results.

FBMS is supported by the newly created Business Integration Office.
