Deployment 8 TRR-I Quality Gate Passed
Cycle 1 Integration Testing is Underway
The D8 deployment has passed the Test Readiness Review - Integration (TRR-I) gate review, signaling the start of D8 Testing. The Testing Team has been hard at work preparing for D8, and the kickoff for Cycle 1 Testing took place as planned on May 28, 2013. The Herndon and Denver PMOs were connected via teleconference and WebEx, and others joined from various locations around the country.
The purpose of testing is to reduce implementation risk, promote quality assurance, validate that the system functions are designed per the requirements and demonstrate system integration. Testing consists of a series of consecutive system verification/qualification processes under simulated field conditions within the quality assurance operational environment.
The PMO Team has created more than 400 Test Scripts for D8 Integration Testing. The scripts are executed, step by step, with testers comparing actual to expected results.Cycle 1 Testing began on May 28, immediately after we passed the TRR-I gate review. It is performed primarily by Program Management Office (PMO) testers, and is designed to uncover defects in both the FBMS system and the test scripts themselves (in preparation for Cycle 2). Testing began as scheduled at 2:00 PM EDT, and the first test case was completed in just over 90 minutes, at 3:34 PM EDT.
