Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar along with Nancy Sutley the Chair of the President's Council on Environmental Quality and other federal and state officials hosted a public forum at the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C. to discuss strategies for addressing a range of water supply challenges facing California. This was the second public meeting on California water challenges jointly held by Interior and California officials. The first was in Sacramento, California, on August 12.
