Secretary Salazar Meets Georgia Governor to Discuss Drought,
Visits Martin Luther King Site

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar met with Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue to get an update on water issues in the area. The Secretary took a two-hour helicopter tour of areas previously affected by drought conditions including the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier. Secretary Salazar also visited the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Site where he laid a wreath assisted by Dr. King’s sister, Christine King Farris and the Senior Pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rev. Raphael Warnock.
