Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne on Wednesday thanked federal wildland firefighters and employees at the National Interagency Fire Center for their selfless dedication and outstanding efforts in battling wildfires across the nation during the past year, the second-worst wildfire season on record since 1960.
