National Park Service Director Mary A. Bomar and John Nau, Chairman of the National Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, joined Secretary Kempthorne in the ceremony at the Vicksburg National Military Park. Country star Trace Adkins, who had an ancestor who served in the 31st Louisiana Volunteer Infantry during the Siege of Vicksburg, also participated in the unveiling ceremony.
