Subject: Establishing Financial
Administration Memorandum Category IV for Managerial Cost Accounting and IVA for
Activity Based Cost Management
The purpose of this
Financial Administration Memorandum (FAM) is to announce the creation of two new
FAM categories. FAM Category IV will be used to issue policy and procedures
pertaining to general Managerial Cost Accounting topics. FAM Category IVA will
be used to issue policy and procedures pertaining to the Department’s Activity
Based Cost Management (ABC/M) Program.
FAMs addressing the
Department’s ABC/M Program will remain in effect until superseded by publication
of a departmental Activity Based Cost Management Handbook. Updates to the ABC/M
Handbook will be issued through FAMs. These FAMs will remain in effect until
superseded by subsequent updates to the ABC/M Handbook.
