This Departmental Quarters Handbook (400 DM) provides uniform guidelines for the acquisition, management, maintenance and disposal of Government furnished quarters by bureaus and offices of the Department of the Interior. The Handbook implements Office of Management and Budget Circular A-45, Revised October 20, 1993, and OMB Circulars A-11 and A-25. In keeping with recommendations in the National Performance Review, 41 CFR Parts 51 and 52 will be rescinded, and are incorporated in this Handbook.

This customer oriented Handbook provides guidance on additional quarters management matters as recommended by the Interior bureaus and other Federal Departments for which the Department establishes rental charges and provides quarters management services under interagency cross servicing agreements.
