After extensive testing, the Department's Electronic Commerce Gateway was certified by the Defense Information Systems Agency on October 31. We are now officially authorized to use our Gateway to facilitate purchasing actions through the Interior Department Electronic Acquisition System (IDEAS) and for electronic invoicing and payment through the Department's financial system.
Interior is one of the first civilian agency gateways to be
certified for business. The Gateway, which is maintained by the
Washington Administrative Service Center, greatly increases our
quality control over electronic commerce traffic and leads the
way to increased franchising of IDEAS and other systems to
outside organizations.
