FOREWORDThis document was prepared to present the plan of the Department of the Interior forconserving energy and water in buildings and facilities. The plan is in response to ExecutiveOrder 12902, Executive Order 12759, Sec 3, and the National Energy Conservation Policy Act(NECPA) (As amended by the Federal Energy Management Improvement Act of 1988 (P.L.100-615) and the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (P.L. 102-486); Sec.543(a).1992, concerningFederal Energy Management. Enclosed is the Department of the Interior's Buildings and FacilitiesEnergy Management and Water Conservation Plan.
Energy Management and Water Conservation planning is a dynamic process and the Directorof the Office of Acquisition and Property Management will continue to work with the Bureaus toidentify additional activities through Fiscal Year 2005.
