The As-Is Trust Business Model report provided OST the first comprehensive documentation of major processes supporting the Indian trust and their inter-relationships. Through development of the model, DOI achieved the following benefits:

  • Established a comprehensive understanding of current trustiness operations
  • Documented regional variances and their causes (e.g., due to fed buseral, state or local laws, treaties, court rulings, local practices)
  • Identified current issues and opportunities for improvement to provide a basis for a To-Be process reengineering of the Indian trust
