Another Son of Micronesia Falls In Iraq, U.S. Army Sergeant, Iosiwo Uruo
May 24, 2007 – U.S. Army Sergeant, Iosiwo Uruo, 27, who resided in Agana Heights, Guam died today in Buhriz, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. Uruo died of wounds suffered when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire. Sgt. Uruo was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) in Fort Lewis, Washington.
Guam Governor Felix Camacho has granted a special request by Uruo's father, Isaoshy Uruo, that Uruo be laid to rest beside "three other war heroes", Army Spc. John Flores, Army Sgt. Jesse Castro and Army Spc. Kasper Dudkiewicz, previously fallen in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant Uruo will be laid to rest in Guam's Veteran Cemetary on Friday, June 8.
