LIVING IN THE FAS AND HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION?

As reported in June 2007, by the U.S. Embassy in Pohnpei, Micronesia, we are pleased to inform that, thanks to efforts of the U.S. Ambassador and her staff, the Department of Veterans Affairs is now transferring responsibility for telephone inquiries from Veterans residing in the Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands and Palau from the Veterans Affairs Office in Pittsburgh to the Veterans Affairs Office in Honolulu.

Under this new arrangement, Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces (regardless of nationality), residing in the Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands or Palau in need of assistance or who have questions on specific Veterans issues may now telephone either of the following:

  • VA office in Honolulu, Hawaii at (808) 433-0108.  (Mr. Louis Brown)
  • VA Office in Hagatna, Guam (671) 472-7217. (Mr. David Larson)

If these individuals cannot answer your questions right away, they will research the issues for you and contact you back once they have answers.  If you receive an answering machine, please leave a message as well.

Please note that if you are a veteran/citizen of any of the three freely associated states and are residing in the U.S. Mainland or any of the territories.  Please contact the Veteran’s office responsible for your specific jurisdiction.

REGISTER AT YOUR RESPECTIVE U.S. EMBASSIES

If you have not already done so, please contact your respective Embassies as listed below to give your basic veterans information:

  1. Name
  2. Branch of Service You Were In
  3. Phone Numbers
  4. Email Address
  5. Cell Numbers

This will enable the respective embassies to contact you with important information, liaise better for you with the Veteran’s Administration, and notify of you of special events and visits by VA officials. Help us to serve you better.
