Acting Assistant Secretary for Insular Areas

Ms Sobeck, currently the Acting Assistant Secretary for Insular Areas, has served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks in the Department of the Interior since 2009. Previously, she served at the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division from 1984-2009. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Law School. She also has the honor of having a species of Pacific nudibranch, Hallaxa hileenae, named for her.
