The Pentagon says Staff Sergeant Ioasa Tavae was killed when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire in Mosul at the weekend. The 29-year-old Tavae was assigned to the US Army's 1st Battalion combat team based at Fort Lewis in Washington.
