As reported in June 2007, by the U.S. Embassy in Pohnpei, Micronesia, we are pleased to inform that, thanks to efforts of the U.S. Ambassador and her staff, the Department of Veterans Affairs is now transferring responsibility for telephone inquiries from Veterans residing in the Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands and Palau from the Veterans Affairs Office in Pittsburgh to the Veterans Affairs Office in Honolulu. Under this new arrangement, Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces (regardless of nationality), residing in the Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands or Palau in need of assistance or who have questions on specific Veterans issues may now telephone either of the following:
If these individuals cannot answer your questions right away, they will research the issues for you and contact you back once they have answers. If you receive an answering machine, please leave a message as well. Please note that if you are a veteran/citizen of any of the three freely associated states and are residing in the U.S. Mainland or any of the territories. Please contact the Veteran’s office responsible for your specific jurisdiction.
