OFAS Recognizes Project SEARCH Students
The Office of the Secretary, Office of Facilities and Administrative Services (OFAS), sponsored three Project SEARCH student interns during the last school semester. From January to April 2014, students Kimberly McMillon, Donte Hill, and Merrell Jay were assigned to the OFAS, Administrative Services Division in operational areas to include Safety, Health and Environmental Services, Special Events Operations and Creative Communication Services. Project SEARCH is a Department of the Interior sponsored high school transition program located here in the Stewart Lee Udall Main Interior Building. The program is a unique school-to-work program that takes place entirely in the workplace. Students are immersed in a combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and relevant job-skills training through strategically placed internship assignments.
All three student will be returning to OFAS next semester based on their successful performance and accomplishments.
