OCIO 'How To' Guide on Administrative Operations

The OCIO 'How To' Guide on Administrative Operations is a supplemental document to the OCIO Employee Guide. This guide provides the step-by-step process for performing some of the administrative operations listed above.

Electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF)

The eOPF is an electronic version of the paper Official Personnel Folder (OPF) and a system for accessing the electronic folder online. The eOPF system combines document management with workflow capabilities.  The eOPF allows each employee to have an electronic personnel folder instead of a paper folder.  Access your eOPF at https://eopf.nbc.gov/doi/eOPF%20Splash.aspx.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

EAP is a free of charge service provided through EAP Consultants Inc. contracted by DOI to provide employees with comprehensive EAP services.  EAP offers assessment, short-term counseling, and referral services for a wide range of personal problems, as well as a variety work/life issues and these include:

  • Stress
  • Crisis
  • Marital and Family Problems
  • Emotional Concerns
  • Relationship Issues
  • Psychiatric Disorders
  • Work Related Difficulties
  • Alcohol & Drug Problems
  • Life Adjustments
  • Medical Problems

The clinical providers are highly experienced:

  • Licensed psychologists
  • Licensed clinical social workers
  • Licensed professional counselors
  • Licensed marriage and family therapists
  • Certified alcohol and drug counselors

The consultants include:

  • Attorneys

  • Eldercare specialists
  • Childcare specialists

Parking

  • The department provides temporary parking passes to DOI employees upon request through the Interior Business Center (IBC) Parking Office.  Temporary passes are issued for parking spaces at the South Interior Building (SIB) lot and the Main Interior Building (MIB) and Federal Reserve Building (FRB) parking garages.  Temporary passes for parking spaces in the MIB garage are assigned to DOI Key Officials only. 

DOI employees only have access to free and open parking at the SIB parking lot after 3:30p until 10:00p during the weekdays (Mon. thru Fri.) and all day on the weekends (Sat. and Sun.) until 10p.  A temporary pass is not required to park during this time but employees must display their badge to the Security Guard to park on the lot.

The following are the weekday closures for the secured parking locations at the Interior Complex:

A/B ramp Main Interior Building

Closes at 8:00 pm

C/G ramp Main Interior Building

Closes at 8:00 pm

D Ramp – Main Interior Building

Closes at 6:30 pm

South Interior Building Constitution Ave entrance

Open from 8a – 4p

South Interior Building

Closes at 10pm – 7 Days a Week

Onsite Amenities

Take advantage of an opportunity to work at the Interior Complex (Main and South Interior Buildings) where services such as a state-of –the-art fitness center provided by the Interior Department Recreation Association (IDRA) as well as a Hair Salon, Barbershop, Dry Cleaners, IDRA Store, and a Post Office located on the Basement level of the MIB. For additional information about the IDRA and all of the services and special discounts and offers made available to DOI employees visit the website at http://www.interiorrec.org/.

Employee Emergency Information

The safety and wellbeing of DOI employees is first priority. In the event of an emergency at the MIB, you will be notified by alarm bells, voice annunciated messages over the public announcement system, strobe lights and vibrating pagers (for hearing impaired individuals) to immediately evacuate the building.  For additional information visit the Employee Emergency Information site http://www.doi.gov/emergency/employeeemergency/index.cfm
