1.) Navigate to http://www.ibm.com/easyaccess/doi
2.) Select “register now”. Fill in the following page and select “continue”
3.) Fill in the next screen and select “submit”
4.) Wait for about 1 hour for your ID to be created.
1.) Navigate to the IBM DOI Website: http://www.ibm.com/easyaccess/doi to start the quote creation.
2.) Insert your IBM ID and Password, then hit “submit”
3.) Underneath the US Department of the Interior banner, use the drop down menu to select your bureau. Once bureau has been selected, select “go”
4.) Select any of the products of interest. For this exercise, select “IBM System X”
5.) Each product on the list has been approved for the DOI BPA contract # NBC050006 or NBC050008. Select “IBM System x3650”
6.) At the bottom of the screen, you can either select 7979AC1 or 7979MC1. 7979AC1 is used for either no OS or RedHat. 7979MC1 is used for Microsoft Operating System. For this exercise, please select 7979AC1
7.) Configure the server by selecting your processor, memory, etc. Once you hit the bottom of the selections, select “continue”
8.) Select “Check System”, then select “Add to Cart”
9.) Three options are available for saving your quote:
a. Save Quote: this allows you to save your quote with a quote number
b. Save Cart: this allows you to save your cart without a quote number (cannot share quotes with other team members, including your purchaser, if you are the builder)
c. Save Shared Cart: this allows you to save your cart without a quote number (can be shared across team members with IDs)
For this exercise, let’s select “Save Quote”
10.) Name your quote and select “ok”
11.) Once the quote has been saved, you will see the quote number, quote date, quote expiration, etc. From this page, you are able to print the quote or email the quote, by selecting the button in the upper right corner.
