There are three categories of desktops offered on the DOI Enterprise Hardware Contracts. Dell is the fulfillment vendor for the Desktops contract.
Office Automation Model, excellent for users running office productivity applications such as e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, internet applications, Power Point presentations, accessing PDF documents, and graphic images. It may also be used for viewing topographic maps and static 3D figures. Available in desktop or mini-tower.
 Office Automation Pre Award Specs
Power User/GIS Model, designed for the Power User who needs all the capabilities of the Office Automation Desktop plus the ability to perform light to medium simulation and scientific modeling. In addition, this unit will perform well for advanced graphics. This unit will be the low-end choice for those needing to work with leading-edge advanced graphics. Available in desktop or mini-tower.
Power User/GIS Pre Award Specs
Total GIS Model, supports Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and 3D Modeling tools. It is designed for the user who requires more computing power than the Power User/GIS model can provide in order to handle the high-end applications and advanced graphic needs. The Total GIS model is intended to be used by the scientific and engineering communities that require the most processing power offered in a desktop PC. These units are configured with quad-core processors and are expandable to meet the most demanding needs.
Total GIS Pre Award Specs
To help you choose which laptop is right for you, two buyer's guides are available. The Desktop Technical Buyer's Guide is targeted to technical users (i.e. IT Professionals, Power Users) who are interested in the detailed technical specifications. It consists of a handy grid of the most requested specifications for a quick comparison.
For non-technical users, the Desktop End Users Buyer's Guide is structured with a handy decision matrix, as well as usage scenarios, to help users decide which model will best fit their needs.
