Vendors are required to provide equipment that is Energy Star 4.0
compliant.
The equipment must be ABLE to be Energy Star 4.0 compliant so that Interior
has the option to be Energy Star 4.0 compliant where appropriate.
Vendors are allowed to install images that are NOT Energy Star 4.0
compliant upon request. Imaging decisions are at Interior's/Bureau's
discretion.
Interior guidance and policy regarding Energy Star 4.0 and images will be
developed by the Electronics Stewardship Task Force in partnership with the
CTOC. The ESTF would like to thank FWS for their leadership reviewing the
impact of Energy Star 4.0 compliance on their bureau-wide image.
NOTE: If there are other issues that may make a computer noncompliant with
Energy Star 4.0 other than images (e.g. purchasing an optional component
that consumes more power, or a special power cord is necessary, etc.)
please us know and we can work through the issues together.
