Edit TRM Mappings

Here you edit the mappings between a subsystem component and the Interior TRM. The TRM can only be mapped to the subsystem component level, as shown in this diagram. This window has more options than the other Edit Mappings windows, to let agencies enter specifications from their local TRMs into DEAR. When you open this window the first time, the wizard will load the TRM, and it will probably take a lot longer than loading the PRM, BRM, etc., since the TRM has so much more information in it.

Text at top  Edit

The top of the window shows what system you are working in and where it is.

Levels  Levels

The Add button is only active at the level of the blue text (technical standards), but you can Find at any level.

Click in the checkbox beside a line to map that line. Do NOT check any DOI-tracked systems unless you know what you are doing; once checked, these cannot be unchecked. To make it easier to find checked lines, no line shows up opened into sublevels unless one of the sublevels is selected. This picture has the sublevels opened only for illustration--since none of them are checked, normally none of them would be opened up.

Find  Find

This button opens up the Find popup window to give you a search function. You can select mappings directly from the Find window.

Add button  Add

This is not the same as the Add button on the main screen. That one lets you add a system; this one lets you add a tech spec (technical specification) under a technical standard (all the technical standards are blue). Don't duplicate existing tech specs; you should not be adding a tech spec until you have searched for it with the Find button. This button opens a series of popup windows, to let you enter the name, check that it isn't a duplicate, and enter version and description details.

Save  Save

This button saves your mappings and returns you to the main screen.

Cancel  Cancel

This button returns you to the main screen without saving your work. You will get a popup window asking if you want to discard your changes.

Help  Help

This button opens up the tutorial you are reading now, through the link on this popup window:
Help window

Where you go next

"Add" and "Find" both open up popup windows that eventually return you to this screen. "Save" and "Cancel" will both take you back to the main screen.
