Standard Buttons
Some windows in DEAR have a set of standard buttons to make it easy to select items from a list. This page explains what each button does. The picture below shows the buttons set up to select organizations, but it could be a list of anything in DEAR, not just organizations.
This button lets you type a new selection in the text field and add it. It’s better if you don’t use this function, because you could accidentally add a selection that doesn't exist.
This button lets you modify a selection. You should not normally need to use this button.
This button lets you remove a selection from the list, if, for instance, you dragged over more selections than you meant to.
These buttons move items up and down in the list, but in most cases the order doesn’t matter anyway.
This button expands the list into a larger window.
This button brings up the Select and Drag window shown. The window has a list of possible choices that you can drag and drop into the text field, as shown by the red arrows. The Name field in the Select and Drag window is a wildcard search; if you type in "*fire*" and press the Enter button, it lists all the selections that have "fire" in their names.
This button checks that the selection exists in DEAR.
This button shows details about the selection.
