Hi I’m David Hayes the Deputy Secretary of the Interior.
I’m here in Bejing at the Global Earth Observation Summit.
This is a group of countries that have come together to share information about what’s happening to the globe.
Satellite information, land-based information,
these countries have agreed to share this information
so that folks on the ground from Nigeria to North Dakota
can figure out what the climate is doing to their lands
how much water supplies are being hit by climate change
Health impacts
It’s a very exciting opportunity
It’s the best of international cooperation
And it provides a basis for discussions across our nations
On some of our most important global issues.
