Secretary Salazar Affirms Decision to Delist Gray Wolves in Western Great Lakes and Parts of the Northern Rockies 03/06/2009
Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar held a "Pen and Pad" press conference in Washington D.C. Friday to announce that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will remove the gray wolf from the list of threatened and endangered species in the western Great Lakes, the northern Rocky Mountain states of Idaho and Montana and parts of Washington, Oregon and Utah. The gray wolf was originally listed in 1974.
