Deputy Secretary of the Interior David J. Hayes and National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis announced a $7.5 million donation from philanthropist David M. Rubenstein to partially fund the restoration of the Washington Monument from the damage caused by the August 23, 2011 earthquake.
