75th Anniversary of Marian Anderson’s Concert at the Lincoln Memorial

WASHINGTON – On April 9, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell joined the Washington Performing Arts Society and local high school and elementary school children on the plaza of the Lincoln Memorial to commemorate Marian Anderson’s historic Easter Day concert in 1939.

Karin Paludan, Washington Performing Arts Society Teaching Artist, leads Washington D.C’s Ross Elementary School 3rd Grade Class and the WPAS Children of the Gospel Choir in a number that Marian Anderson sang. DOI
