WASHINGTON – In one of her first trips as Secretary of the Interior, and as part of the Obama Administration’s unprecedented commitment to the restoration of the Everglades, Sally Jewell will travel to Florida on Wednesday to tour the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge and Everglades National Park. While there, Secretary Jewell will receive briefings on restoration issues including water flow, water quality, endangered species, and invasive species. Jewell will also meet with stakeholders and employees of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service.

A limited number of seats are available to credentialed members of the media on the airboat tours of the Refuge and the National Park. Due to space restrictions, reporters and crews must RSVP by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 to Blake Androff (blake_androff@ios.doi.gov).

From Boynton Beach Blvd., proceed south on Hwy 441/SR7 for two miles and turn west onto Lee Road.)
