WASHINGTON – On Friday, May 25, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Governor of Montana Brian Schweitzer will hold a news media teleconference to discuss need for Congress to pass legislation that will extend the Production Tax Credit to support American jobs and manufacturing in the wind industry.
These credits have played an important role in fueling that job creation, and as a result have strong bipartisan support from Governors, Members of Congress, as well as industry. They are a key part of America’s energy future and our efforts to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and develop more secure domestic energy sources by investing in clean energy manufacturing. Since 2008, the United States has nearly doubled generation from renewable energy sources.
Credentialed media can join the teleconference by dialing 1-800-369-1788 and providing the access code INTERIOR.
