Natural gas may be far more abundant in the deep shelf area of the Gulf of Mexico than originally forecast.  Johnnie Burton, Director of the Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service announced in a news conference in Houston Wednesday a 175% increase over previous estimates of the deep shelf.
