Deputy Interior Secretary Scarlett, Deputy Agriculture Under Secretary Tenny and EPA Regional Administrator Welsh
to Attend “Listening Session” in Roanoke, Virginia

WASHINGTON – Deputy Secretary of the Interior Lynn Scarlett, Deputy Under Secretary of Agriculture for Natural Resources David Tenny and EPA Regional Administrator Donald Welsh will attend a cooperative conservation “listening session” in Salem, Va., on Monday, August 14, 2006. The session will take place in the Wortmann Ballroom at Roanoke College’s Colket Center. The starting time has been changed to 10:30 a.m.

A news media availability will be held with the three federal officials from noon to 12:15 p.m. during the lunch break.

The “listening session” is one in a series of public meetings across the country to solicit and exchange ideas on incentives, partnership programs, and regulations that can improve results and promote cooperative conservation and environmental partnerships. In addition to Interior and EPA, the Agriculture Department, the Commerce Department and the White House Council on Environmental Quality are sponsoring the sessions.
