On Monday, October 12, 2009, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will join Bureau of Land Management Director Bob Abbey at the dedication of the Dry Lake Wind Power Project in Heber, Arizona. The Dry Lake Wind Power Project the first commercial-scale wind energy development in Arizona. The wind turbines are located on a combination of the public lands managed by the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management, Arizona State Trust Lands, and private lands on the Rocking Chair Ranch in Navajo County, demonstrating a strong public-private partnership to support renewable energy in the State of Arizona.
