Take Pride in America® partners with Toyota
for VolunTour across America
--Nationwide trip to promote Volunteerism on public lands--

This week, Take Pride in America in conjunction with Toyota, is kicking off a nationwide trip promoting volunteerism on public lands.  The campaign will involve several trips in a Toyota Prius, traveling up and down the East and West coasts, as well as in the South.  

The 2007 VolunTours will be comprised of three swings, with the official VolunTour Toyota Prius teaming up with local partners as we make our way across the country.  The first swing will be September 29 through October 6 in California, Oregon, and Washington State. 

“As we kickoff our fall VolunTour, we are looking forward to meeting with volunteers along the west coast, the people who day in and day out help take care of our treasured public lands,” said Roebke.  “Person by person, in small towns and large, these volunteers selflessly give up their time and energy to improve our lands, and we’re on this tour to spread that vision.”

“At Toyota, we operate under a company-created global earth charter that promotes environmental responsibility throughout our entire company,” said Michael Rouse, Toyota corporate manager of philanthropy and community affairs.  “We are also committed to preserving the environment through strong partnerships with organizations like Take Pride in America.”

The VolunTour across America will kickoff with a beach cleanup event on National Public Lands Day (September 29), at Baker Beach (San Francisco, CA). "Take Pride in America is excited to join Toyota and local partners across the country as we begin our VolunTour across America,” said Heather Roebke, executive director, Take Pride in America.  “Take Pride is dedicated to promoting a sense of ownership and volunteerism on all manner of public lands, and is looking forward to a strong partnership with Toyota."
