The Employee and Public Services (EPS) staff, provides comprehensive program services in seven functional areas, including drug and alcohol testing; workers' compensation; ethics; medical surveillance/health promotions; background investigations/security clearances; and occupational safety/tort claims. The staff of nine trained and experienced professionals are specialists able to complement your existing staff or provide the full range of services in a functional area. EPS is part of the National Business Center, Department of the Interior.

Drug and Alcohol Testing: Collection, Laboratory and Medical Review Officer Contracts; Training for Drug-Free Workplace and Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Program; Internet Database System to manage results of drug and alcohol testing (FAST - Federal Agency Specimen Tracking); Employee Assistance Program; Quarterly Review and Analysis of program performance.

Workers' Compensation: Claims Processing; Active Case Management; Investigations; Reemployment Opportunities for Injured Employees; Periodic Case Reviews; Centralized Filing System; Quarterly Review and Analysis of program performance.

Medical Surveillance and Health Promotions: Technical assistance on occupational health and medical issues; Medical Surveillance reviews; Pre-employment reviews; Monitoring of hazardous agent exposures; Development and maintenance of medical record systems; Coordinate various Wellness related activities such as Blood Drives, Blood Pressure checks, Dieting, Fitness Fairs, etc.

Background Investigations and Security Clearances: Review and Adjudication of Personnel Security Investigations; Grant and Maintain National Security Clearances; Briefings and Debriefings for Safeguarding Classified National Security Information; Inspect and Evaluate Personnel Security Field Operations; Fingerprinting; Policy/Operational Development; Training.

Occupational Safety and Tort Claims: Workplace Safety Evaluations; Accident investigations; Evaluation of hazardous worksites and recommendations for corrective actions; Consultative Services on Safety and Health Policy; Workers' Compensation case reviews.
