Regional Workshop: The Changing Global Gas Market and Unconventional Gas

Under the U.S.-Asia Pacific Comprehensive Energy Partnership (USACEP), the U.S. Department of State and Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) hosted the regional workshop, The Changing Global Gas Market and Unconventional Gas, May 6-8 in Jakarta, Indonesia. DOI-ITAP coordinated this activity as part of its continuing implementation of the Department of State-led Unconventional Gas Technical Engagement Program (UGTEP). Approximately 150 participants discussed regional gas market issues in the Asia-Pacific and the potential for regional unconventional gas development, as well as lessons lessons learned from the U.S. experience. The workshop featured participation by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) governments across the region; U.S. Federal and state officials; and representatives from academia and industry.
